Wazdan Extends Ontario Presence Through St8 Aggregation Partnership
Wazdan, the Malta-based slot developer known for its volatility mechanics and Infinity feature line, has expanded its presence in Canada's Ontario iGaming market through an extension of its existing content distribution agreement with St8, the Estonia-based games aggregator.
The announcement, made on May 20, 2026, brings four Wazdan slot titles — Mighty Fish: Blue Marlin, 36 Coins, Mighty Wild: Panther Grand Diamond Edition, and Mighty Wild: Gorilla — live in the Ontario regulated market via St8's aggregation platform. Three of Wazdan's signature proprietary mechanics are included: Cash to Infinity, Sticky to Infinity, and Hold the Jackpot.
The Companies Behind the Deal
St8 is an Estonia-headquartered casino games aggregator that received its supplier licence from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) in October 2025. Since receiving its AGCO certification, the company has moved rapidly to expand its Ontario content roster.
Wazdan is a Malta-based game development studio that has held an AGCO supplier licence since 2022 and first launched content in Ontario in April 2023. The company's Infinity mechanics — which provide player control over volatility settings and feature frequency — have become a distinguishing product feature in markets where slot content has moved toward more player-configurable experiences.
Ontario as North American Entry Market
For European slot studios and aggregators, Ontario has become the preferred initial North American market entry point. The AGCO's regulatory framework is more accessible for European companies than most US state certification processes: it has a developed application pathway, documented standards, and a track record of approving European-origin suppliers at scale.
Why It Matters
Ontario's regulated iGaming market posted a record $9.59 billion handle in March 2026, making it one of the most commercially valuable regulated online casino markets in North America. The Wazdan-St8 Ontario deal is one in a wave of European supplier-aggregator partnerships targeting the province, driven by the lower incremental cost of extending existing AGCO-certified relationships versus building independent distribution. For slot studios operating outside North America, Ontario is now frequently the market chosen as a regulated NA entry point before US state certification.
