Sportradar Extends NBA Official Data Partnership for Seven Years in Deal Worth Reported $1.1 Billion

Sportradar has announced the renewal and extension of its official data and streaming rights partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA) for a seven-year term beginning with the 2026-27 season, in a deal reported by sports business media to be valued at approximately $1.1 billion over its duration.

The partnership makes Sportradar the NBA's exclusive official data distribution partner for sports betting purposes globally — giving the company the right to sell official NBA data to sportsbook operators in more than 100 countries. Sportradar has held official NBA data rights since 2016, and the renewal is the largest single sports data rights deal in the company's history.

"Official data is the foundation of the modern sports betting product. Our partnership with the NBA gives operators the accuracy, depth, and reliability of data that their customers expect," said Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl.

The deal also covers NBA G League data and rights to in-play streaming for betting-focused platforms — a growing area as operators compete on the richness of their live betting content.

Sportradar's position as the sports data industry's dominant player has come under growing scrutiny from regulators and sports bodies alike. Several major European football federations have expressed concern about market concentration in sports data, arguing that the dominance of a single supplier creates systemic risks for the integrity of the sports betting ecosystem.

The company went public on the Nasdaq in 2021 and has since invested heavily in AI-powered data processing and integrity services — the latter including a major expansion of its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), which monitors betting markets globally for suspicious activity.
